Debian-IL Back and Kicking
Submitted by Anonymous on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 – 07:17
Are you an Israeli? Are you tired of having no place to vent your Israeli specific feelings about Debian? Do you think having no forum for Israeli Debian users to rant with bad English and transilerations of Hebrew words is seriously hurting the Israeli Debian community? Fear no more.

Brought to you by the courtesy of Alex Shnitman, Itamar Shtull-Trauring and another, yet-unnamed, Debian developer from Israel — a new, improved and all powerful Debian-IL. Be there, or be non-Israeli.

Wow look at people’s response to this.

For all the shouting of socialist ideals and people helping people the absolute lack of understanding regarding the middle east conflict and lack of solidarity for the palestinian people shows the superficiality of the developers political “ideals”.

yawn..

who cares. The announcement was about debian activities in israel. the plestinian-israel conflict is irrelevant to this.

Who cares?
Nowadays, if you don’t put a plane or twoo on a building, nobody cares…
Just let all this people die quietly. Debian still the best.

No idea who the developer is. My mirror is not on a frame relay nor on barak anymore. I am connected to Actcom via ADSL (96Kb upstream) and maintain full i386 and SPARC trees.

Palestinians kan use the Israeli list.
I am asuming that palestinians speak the same language.

Religions should be kept out of operating system distributions and mailing lists.

Disclaimer.
I’m not from the region.
I’m atheist.
And I think two religions can coexist in the same area.
I also think that both Israelis and Palestines use Debian the same way.
And when I drink alcohol I always get political.
As my mom says:”Nu pratar et om politik åp nytt, ha et dråchi öl nu åp nytt?”

if you’d like to debate your political views on the 60-year Isreali-Palestinian conflict, then find a board to do so. don’t take up a debian board in the name of “saving lives”; it’s really fucking irritating.

btw, why would there be a “Muslim Debian List”? Muslim/Islam is a religion. would there be a “Buddhist Debian Mailing List”? how about Hindu? Taoism? Christian?

fuck me? i don’t want to blow up anybody who doesn’t share my thoughts. you don’t even know my thoughts. personally, i belive both sides are at fault. but, the simple point is: look how this topic exploded. it was never supposed to do that. it never NEEDED to do that. it was simply an alert that there is an isreali mailing list

And if you think the
zionist racisism and israeli apartheid
sentence is stupid, the kid who wrote it is ready to commit a sucide attack to prove it. And that will surely increase the entropy a lot more than the sentence itself.

Don’t call me moron. You don’t know me, my age, my experience in life and my education. I’d like to see you call me that face to face.

calling all Israelies [qoute]zionist racisism and israeli apartheid[/qoute] is racism.

The dude advertised an Israeli debian site. Did he state his political views ? Do you know his stand on Israeli/Palestinian situation ?

I don’t know your religion/nationality and I don’t care about it.

How would you feel if you were a muslim and the Americans naming all the muslims terrorists after 9/11 ?

How would you feel in you were from blegium and be called by the people of ruanda butcher ? the same for France/Algiria ?

Yes, you’re a great value to Debian community, we could use more people like you 🙁

Is this dude is ready to commit a sucide attack to defend its anti-Israeli views ?
If not, that means he is a pro-Israli, and a zionist, racist and pro-aparteid.

i think the asshole that originally started this only did this to incite everyone here, it was no doubt thought out to only piss people off, and the real racism started after the brother simply asked if their was a palestinean list, so simply put the zionist were the true makers of the propaganda here which they always seem to be, if this board is truly meant to be non-political then the asshole who asked for an Israli-Debian segregated section should not have started this shit in the first place knowing this was a politically and racist motivated charge he set off, personally i hate all jews in the palestinian held territories with their american assult rifles and shit, what the fuck what right did they have in the first place of taking over, i mean shit saddam did the same shit to kuwait that the fuckin israelis did to the impoverished palestinians – but we stopped his ass then , cause the shit was wrong, so why dont we or didn’t we stop them then and now, the point im making here is in the modern world u cannot invade and capture a country, state or even territories like we did way back in the early dawn of civalization, back when we didn’t even know what gunpowder was. We are not supposed to be babarians, we should be more humane than that – let people have their diginity, respect, and land. If canada came on in with their guns and moved into our homes u better believe we would bomb their asses with any means we had at our disposal, if they indiscrimately killed our children in the streets u better belive i would kill as many as i could before they killed me, anyone who says other wise doesn’t deserve thier freedom or dignity anyways i could go on and on, but i would rather get off this shit, and for the record i am a white male 24 years of age – christian , my name is Micheal Smith, and i pray daily for the palestinians and their children and cause, all the jewish trespassers deserve nothing less than they have dealt. peace

It’s sad that we have to be completely bias, and state all our Goddamned retarded personal views – towards both Israeli and Palestianian people… and I think it’s even sadder that everybody has to get all worked up about a simple local Israeli site…

What the hell is wrong with local access? Why is there a uk.debian? Why is there a us.debian? …

You are right only if you are using the _real_ meaning of the words racism and apartheid.
But he is right if these words are taken with their _legal_ international interpretation which says that zionism means racism and that when an Israeli choose to live in OT, he is comitting a crime as horrible as the nazis did.
And no, the reality is that one cannot generalize about muslims, americans, french, but one can generalize about Israelis, because the concept of Israeli is based on a racist view based itself on a deicide.
Oh, I don’t agree with that, but this is the reality, and you have to accept it.
