|Debian is now a member of the GNOME foundation. Press release follows.
Personally I think it is great that Debian has a place on the foundation as one of the most popular 101% free distros with a growing number of users. It can help represent the views of the developers and the users from a DFSG point of view.
The Debian project has been invited to join the Advisory Board of
recently created Gnome Foundation. The Advisory Board is a forum
organizations and companies that have an interest in Gnome to
communicate with the Board of the Foundation and work together to

The Gnome Foundation will work to further the goals of the Gnome
project. To achieve these goals, the Foundation will coordinate
releases of Gnome and determine which projects are part of Gnome.
Foundation will act as an official voice for the Gnome project,
