    And that would kill PDF… People would switch to something else, something more open, something that we can all use. What good would that do them?

    If you shouldn’t not do it because you are afraid for better ‘protection’ (‘ripping of users’ sounds more appropriate). If you are against something you should go against it at any chance you get.

    I think the patch should go in because the ‘protection’ denies me my rights to use pieces of the text in my own work, which fals under ‘Fair Use’.

    I think the patch should be applied. If Adobe gets angry and does something in return to the format and makes it impossible to open say without a Windows DLL for instance, then I am sure someone will come up with an open source file format, just like in the case of mp3 vs ogg.

    Screw Adobe…. Apply the patch.
