I totaly agree. I think one of the coolest things with debian is that I can show i friend “Lets install linux” and 10 min later we reboot and login. Then I just search among the packages on (on another machine) and apt-get install the programs I need. After mysql, apache, proftpd, php-4, ssh i got a good server up and running.

This is a great idea. My earlier post about renaming the options for tasksel and dselect could probably be ignored in place of not making dselect available as part of the normal install. Have a choice to use Tasksel or just to end the install. then there can be information about how to run Tasksel, Dselect, or other GUI-style package management insterfaces from the command line. It is definitely not advantageous to have Dselect as an option during the initial install.

In short, I second this idea.
