    Preparing Debian GNU/Linux 2.2r3
Posted on Sunday, March 11 @ 10:59:25 GMT

Martin Schulze sent this to debian-devel-announce last night.

some of you eventually already noticed that attempts are being made to
get a new revision of potato aka ``Debian GNU/Linux stable'' released
soon. Revision 2.2r2 of our stable distribution was released on
December 5th which is three months ago. Given the amount of security
issues which have been fixed since then a new revision should have
been released quite a while ago. To get the thing going I stepped
forward to help Anthony Towns to release2.2r3 soon.

There is still lot to do and joey made it clear that all of this will checked by Anthony Towns before released. According to joey on the highest priority are uploads that contained security fixes or fixes to critical bugs (dataloss etc.)

Joey also mentioned an URL to list of package candidates (so far)

The full mail can be found, as usual, on the list archives

Can we have some sort of time frame in which it might be released? I'm about to re-install my setup of two years and would rather wait if there are a lot of fixes. Does apt automatically get the patches r3 would include?
