    Plex86 packages hit Sid
Contributed by d00d on Tuesday, November 06 @ 10:41:30 GMT

    Debian
Plex86 packages have just appeared in Sid today! they have the following features:

    - automatic compilation and installation of the linux module

    - module loading handled by sysvinit scripts (/etc/init.d/plex86)

    - launcher script that passes config file to plex86 with the -f parameter

    - includes binary files for both X and curses. debconf interface asks for a choice.

    - using the free vgabios implementation (vgabios package)

Sid users can apt-get them. If you're in testing or stable, get them from http://packages.debian.org/unstable/misc/plex86.html, they should work fine too.

What can Plex86 run? (Score: 0)

Last time I checked plex86 was making a big deal about being able to just boot win95. How usable is it compared to VMWare?

    - speed

    - stability

    - usability
