    Because the current system is in an dead end. You

    can make improvements but you have to change the design to come further.

    And I think different approches are a good thing.

    Evolution can come to quite better efects than

    too much cooks within one design

    The reason we’re not cooperating with Debian on the new installer yet is that we have to get Progeny Debian 1.0 out the door, and the new Debian installer won’t be ready in time. After we’ve released 1.0, we plan to work more closely (as much as they’re willing, anyway 🙂 with the installer team.

    If the new installer is written in a modular fashion, there is no reason Progeny Debian 2.0 should have its own independent installer.
