KDE-Debian HOWTO for KDE2 and Woody
Contributed by Anonymous on Saturday, February 09 @ 22:15:59 GMT

...was posted on the debian-kde list.

This HOWTO is in an early release form: It is not complete, but contains much useful information.
I hope to update this once or twice per week, and will post it to the debian-kde list.

DanielS: Shouldn't let this pass without a note on KDE3. I hope to have kdelibs, kdebase and kdeutils (maybe more?) within a week.

Does that mean that you are going to package KDE 3 after all? I thought that was Chris' area?

FYI your backend.php code still doesn't strip out ampersands, which are illegal in RSS 0.92.

The kdelibs debs are built and sitting on a private repository so I can give them a damn good thumping; I plan to have kdebase finished tomorrow, and then kdeutils on either Thursday night or Saturday.

Right now tho, I'm going to roll back about 10cm, tip my chair back and collapse in to bed. I'm damn tired.

PS: The reason these first debs took so long was because I had to battle qt3 and its god-awful build system; the others should come in much quicker secession.

Here is a document that wishes to be the definitive reference on KDE installation on Woody and what does it say:

    Installing X Windows

How many Unix/Linux newbies have been chastised for not saying X or The X Window System and then this document makes the same blunder.
