Boot + Root on RAID 1 (with ReiserFS)
Contributed by James on Thursday, September 06 @ 17:08:27 BST

    File Systems
With all the talk recently on DP about the various modern filesystems, here is my BOOT + ROOT RAID 1, ReiserFS, Initrd, HOWTO, with a standard Debian packaged kernel.

The entire process described does not require any custom modifications or compiles. You should be able to apt update the entire system, even the kernel. Of course, you can substitute any filesystem in here (probably) when it too is in a packaged Kernel.

Drone0709: Nice to be able to get something working just using standard packages and no recompiles - if this works out for people (note I haven't tried it) then the author deserves a pat on the back

I'm looking for comments or links to similar doco: email me ( if you have any web pages that may help.
