Submitted by ressu on Wednesday, October 25, 2000 – 21:45
Debian project has a search engine again. After a quite while without a search engine Debian project selected UdmSearch as the website indexer.
everything is, as usual, with the same look and feel.
The Search can be found at search.debian.org

Joel, This one is for you.
Submitted by ressu on Wednesday, October 25, 2000 – 08:34
www.debian.org has, officially today, been moved to klecker.debian.org. The new system is a VA Linux 2240 model, it is the replacement for va.debian.org, which broke down a month back.
As Some of you know, the current Distribution is deticated to Joel ‘espy’ Klecker, who was willing to donate some of his last moments to the Debian project. This server was named after him, so he can be remembered by all the developers, and users.

Opinion: Is there a future for non-free in Debian?
Submitted by robster on Tuesday, October 24, 2000 – 22:50
Following the proposal made by John Goerzen concerning the further speration of non-free from Debian, it got me thinking. With so many packages having DFSG compatible licences and therefore being included in the main distribution is non-free still needed.

Good examples of this include QT (and therefore KDE) are GPL, Mozilla’s dual licencing to replace Netscape.

Give us your feedback below! (NB: You have to have an account to post)
