    GNOME2 for Woody

GNOME2Gustavo Noronha Silva (aka kov) has backported the experimental GNOME2 packages for Woody. The apropriate sources.list line is

    deb http://people.debian.org/~kov/debian woody gnome2

Use these packages at your own risk, however kov is happy to solicit email from users of these packages. Lots of screenshots below (links to larger versions).

    More GNOME2 coolness

Kov has some screenshots in his post to the list (warning: klecker is slow!!!)

Probably yes. If only you could figure out which upgraded package did the trick then you could help solve this problem for a lot of other people too. I’m pretty sure you weren’t the only sufferer.

maybe the times on the files in /var/cache/apt/archives will help ?

‘ls -f’ of my /var/cache/apt is here: http://radel.inet.net.nz/outfile

    Order of events:
    apt-get clean
    apt-get install gnome2 (from kov)
    apt-get upgrade (from kov)
apt-get install koffice for kde3 (from elsewhere)
    apt-get install evolution (from unstable)

    Subject: times?

The times seem to show when they were first created, not times of download. I did an apt-get clean prior to downloading, but have some reasonably old dates here. I downloaded Gnome2, then upgraded packages that were in his repository, then downladed Koffice (for KDE3), then Evolution from unstable. If I do an ls -f in my cache, I seem to get a list of files that represents that order. I could post a list, but it would be lengthy, even though I did an apt-get clean.

Here is the list of suspects:
    libglib2.0-0_2.0.4-3_i386.deb
