KDE 3.0.2 debs now available from the usual place

KDEI’ve seen one or two articles in the submission bin saying things like ‘finally KDE has been packaged’ and ‘forget Debian, someone has done these debs here’ etc. And then they refer to the repository of KDE3 debs which have been made by Chris Cheney (calc), Debian’s official KDE maintainer, which has now existed for going on a month, if not more. It seems some people just didn’t notice. So, this is just a reminder. They exist, they are here, they are semi-official and apparently they now have KDE 3.0.2. And no, they won’t be included in woody, they will be going into sid when the bugs are squashed. See #debian-kde on irc.debian.org for more information.

I’ve installed kde 3.0.2 sucesfully, but when i install the liquid theme , the transparency doesn’t work, even the Style doesn’t exist on the “Look & Feel -> Style” menu. Any idea?

I am experiencing this too. I did have Liquid working fine with the KDE 3.0.2 debs but I preformed apt-get update yesterday (Running unstable), it grabbed a bunch of new packages (I didn’t see any KDE releated ones, they seemed to be mostly GNOME), then logged back in. My translucent menus/style were gone. Liquid was gone from the Look & Feel -> Style selections.

Anyone have any idea what package recently released to testing broke Liquid? And any idea how to fix it? Thanks!
