    That’s ridiculous.

Why should a commercial company put out a free version of Debian when there already is one out?

I’m sure there’s something in the new Libranet that makes it all worth it.

Well for starts they claim to have completely rewritten the installer that comes with ver 2.0.
Plus there are more, and more recent apps on 2.0.
    Ver 1.91 was a one cd affair. Ver 2.0 is 2 cd’s.
plus the value added features of Libranet such as
    Adminmenu,etc, are being continually refined.

I believe they offered a free d/l because people
were complaining that couldn’t sample the product
before they buy it. Making the earlier version
available for free d/l attempts to answer this complaint. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

There seems to be a certain amount of indifference to mild hostility to Libranet from
    some Debian enthusiasts.
It seems to me they serve a useful service in
putting together an easily installable and easily
maintained offering of more updtodate offerings
    than Debian stable.
Sure you can always update with apt, but there are those who want to use Debian but don’t want
to mess with that. At least not at first.
Myself, I went from Corel to Libranet to Debian
    on its own.
As long as Libranet brings more people over to
Linux and Debian, ( I think it serves as a good
intro to both) they have my blessings.
