    What’s up with cdimage.debian.org?

I’ve recently discovered ‘jigdo’ and have been using it to create ISO images of Debian. However, the last couple of days it’s been impossible. Evidently the *.jigdo files contain referencess to http://cdimage.debian.org in order to retrieve the .template files.Unfortunately, cdimage.debian.org seems to be offline. Are there alternative sites where we can retrieve the .template files for Debian?

The word from Phil Hands is that following an update to kernel-2.4 and LVM, ftp.uk.debian.org has been somewhat flaky. He is investigating but feels that regressing to kernel-2.2 and no LVM wouldn’t be the solution.

cdimage.d.o is the same as ftp.uk.d.o — which hasn’t been too reliable recently. Can anyone through light on to why … Phil?

There was talk of the dns occassionally breaking (as in.. it does it every so often, but the cause is unknown). Someone replied, suggesting that it was a simple case of incorrectly configured DNS, but I didn’t understand the details, knowing next-to-nothing about DNS configs =)

It should be on here somewhere, if you care to search 😉
